November has always been the traditional month for the biannual BUS & BUS BUSINESS SHOW in Verona dedicated to the presentation of the Italian industry of buses and coaches, bus components and everything connected to this sector.

The show is becoming more and more international as each time it attracts a larger number of international exhibitors. At the last Show in 2005 there were 211 exhibitors of which 26% were foreign companies. The Show occupied an area of about 45,000 m² and attracted 14,673 visitors.

The organiser was highly satisfied with the large number of exhibitors and visitors at the 2007 BUS & BUS BUSINESS SHOW. Bus transport represents a very important economic sector in Italy being responsible for the transport of some 14 million passengers in 5,000 communities every day.

Tovarna vozil Maribor d.o.o. presented two buses at the Show:

• Minibus Marbus Viveo – NOGE
• Minibus Marbus Viveo – SAF

The buses were exhibited at our agent’s exhibition stand as we cover the Italian market through a local agent network.

The first response to our buses has so far been very good, so we are expecting an increase in business deals in this market, both those won at international tenders as well as from direct sale.

The 16th international exhibition for airport equipment, technology and services, INTER AIRPORT EUROPE 2007, which took place on 9 -12 October at Munich Airport ended once again with record results. On an enlarged exhibition area of 25,000 m², 603 exhibitors from 30 countries showcased their products and services. With some 13,000 visitors, an increase of 7% on the show two years ago, the show which boasts a 30-year tradition set a new record in its long history.

Even the difficulties caused by train workers' strikes on the last show day did not prevent the enthusiastic and curious visitors from taking the opportunity to see the latest achievements in the area of airport equipment and supporting services.

Our company Tovarna vozil Maribor exhibited a new NEOPLAN airport bus of the Airport Apron N 9122 L generation.

The bus has been fitted with a new MAN EURO IV compliant diesel engine D0836LOH52 of 240 HP, and a three-speed VOITH automatic gearbox. The vehicle structure has been appropriately redesigned to enable better insulation of the engine compartment and easier serviceability of the vehicle. The driver's compartment has been remodelled and fitted with new panelling made from absorption materials. The engine cover is also new. It is made from a special sandwich construction with double sealing and integrated storage compartments on the cover which considerably minimise engine noise. In addition, several adaptations and improvements of the installed components have been made. The driver's compartment has been designed following the recommendations of the VDV-German Association of Transport Operators which ensure extraordinary ergonomic effects. There have been several other design improvements and enhancements which have resulted in an even more attractive interior and exterior of the vehicle.

The response by the exhibition visitors to our new bus was very encouraging, so we can expect further successful co-operation with NEOPLAN and MAN and even better sales figures.

Also the other participants of the exhibition were highly satisfied with the results of the exhibition and its organisation in general. Most of them have already confirmed their participation at the next Inter Airport Europe which will take place in October 2009.

Busworld is not just an exhibition, it is much more than that. A rich programme which runs in parallel with the exhibition includes a range of supporting events, such as lectures, seminars and competitions, as well as an award presentation ceremony, which are all equally important to the bus industry. In addition to the competitions, exhibition visitors can take part in the »Study Days« and the »Exhibition Night«. The events culminate in the presentation of the Grand European Award presented to the best tourist coach.

Environment protection is still the focus of all exhibitions and presentations in the automotive industry. Also Busworld dedicates each time more attention to this subject. At last year's exhibition, special attention was given to the presentation of a hybrid fuel cell bus produced by the Belgian manufacturer Van Hool. The bus had already been successfully used for months by the Belgian transport operator De Lijn.

On a 202 m² presentation stand, our company exhibited three new vehicles:

• Minibus VIVEO EURO IV
• Bus chassis B4 080 EURO IV
• Midibus VIVETH EURO IV

The minibus MARBUS B4 080 VIVEO EURO IV is a new vehicle which was manufactured last year in a version with a EURO III engine and was first presented to the public at a Commercial Vehicles Exhibition in Hannover in September 2007. At that event it attracted great interest and earned a lot of praise from the international public. Following that, a MAN EURO IV engine was installed in the minibus which was first presented to the public in Germany at the Open House Exhibition of our German agent, the company Goeppel.

The chassis of B4 080 EURO IV is the VIVEO bus chassis and has all the characteristics of a bus. More and more companies have lately shown interest in the transfer of vehicle assembly technology to their local markets, which is why we had decided to present the chassis at the Busworld exhibition.

The first public presentation of the midibus MARBUS VIVETH EURO IV took place in Kortrijk.

VIVETH is a completely new vehicle which boasts a luxurious range of new technological features. A new chassis with modern state-of-the-art components ensures extremely silent, safe and stable driving on different terrains. The most important characteristics of the new bus are safety, stability, comfort and low fuel consumption.

A new brake system EBS – 2P1E/ESC ensures equal distribution of braking forces with a maximum utilisation of the hand brake, and equalisation of the break lining wear.

The driver's compartment enables a good overview of the control panel with instruments and switches which ensures easy and safe handling of the vehicle. The CANbus system with a display enables computer control of all functions and their diagnostics in accordance with a pre-defined vehicle programme.

The response from the visitors to our exhibited vehicles was very good and encouraging. As regards the market niche of 9 metre long raised floor tourist midi buses with a luggage compartment of 7.5 m³ we actually did not have any real competition at the event. On the basis of the great interest from potential buyers we can justifiably expect that many business contacts which we established during the show will lead to good business results in 2008.

Our exhibition stand attracted a large number of visitors who wished to see our vehicles. A few hundred people visited us every day of the show. In addition to MAN we were the only company exhibiting a bus chassis which proved to be a real magnet for the show visitors, our current and potential bus buyers, suppliers of components and, at the end of the exhibition, also the other exhibitors and our competitors.

Our well designed and furnished exhibition stand and attractive exhibits made some people visit us more than just once. We established a lot of new business contacts and met several potential partners. In the next few days we are receiving a first business visit from Ireland which will be a direct result of our participation at Busworld.
